The couple met at a mutual friend's graduation party. Ashlynn was sitting at a table with friends, observing the conversation when Bryce showed up and took a seat-- he made a point to bring her into the conversation, and from there everything clicked! When Ashlynn showed up at his cousin's graduation party the next day, he knew for sure that he couldn't let her go. From there, they would endure a long-distance relationship, separated by almost 300 miles, getting in visits where they could!

Ashlynn and Bryce knew very soon into their relationship that this was it, however, both halves of the couple were still in school and it simply wasn't the right time. By August of 2022, Bryce had painstakingly designed and obtained the ring that he would propose with, almost getting busted picking it up when Ashlynn checked his location. When it came to asking Ashlynn's parents, Bryce was told yes but to wait until she got through her first semester of nursing school. After the allotted time passed, Bryce asked again and was given the go-ahead. He had the ring and permission, and now all he needed was a plan. Ashlynn's little sister would be graduating high school in May of 24 and to celebrate, the family (with the addition of Bryce) would be traveling to Utah. After getting her permission to propose on the trip, Bryce was ready to put his plan into action, but the only obstacle left was to prevent Ashlynn from finding out and ruining the surprise. Despite all of her questioning, Bryce had her convinced that he didn't have a ring, much less permission from her parents-- he may have lied a little too well though, because she had lost hope of a summertime proposal occurring. It had previously been decided that family photos would be taken while in Utah, which Bryce saw as the perfect opportunity to pop the question. The morning after arriving in Utah was deemed family picture day. Ashlynn got to work with her camera and tripod, taking pictures of the couples, individual shots, and eventually a group family picture, leaving her and Bryce for last. Victoria played camerawoman, claiming that she had an "artistic vision" and Ashlynn played along knowing better than to argue with her, which is how she found herself turning around to see Bryce on one knee with a ring in his hand. Easiest "YES" of her life!
