Our first date of course involved cooking. (I should have known then that Jack would become a chef later on) He invited me over to make spam musubi when I was a freshmen in college. I came in unsure of what to expect never having eaten spam or heard of spam musubi before. While the rice balls did end up falling apart and it was a lot messier and complicated than either of us expected I learned of a delicious flavor combination that day and found my forever person.

It all started when we hijacked a friends vacation.. Met at Myrtle beach with a group of gaming buddies with a plot in mind. convinced them to "hire a photographer for the group" and take Ashlynd for a "spa day". It was going great and that when the photographer asked us to move over to a bridge area and had the rest of the guys stand off to the side. He asked Ashlynd to turn around and wait for everyone else to get into position. When he finally told her to turn around she got very confused... "where did the rest of the group go Shouldn't they be behind me?" was what I got reading her face. She didn't even notice I was shaky and nervous holding a ring down on one knee and just turned right back around to pose for the photo. The photographer had to turn her around two more times and really say "just look.. just look at everything happening around you" that's when she noticed and I got to have one of the happiest moments of my life as she say "Yes" but not before "are you sure.. is this real??" and then followed immediately by the biggest and most loving embrace I may ever get. Unforgettable.
