Wedding Crew

Here be our faithful crew who keep us heading straight and true

Veronica Cruz

Maid of Honor

Veronica and I had mutual friends in high school, so I invited to a Halloween party at the house. After certain illicit activities, her and I spend an hour eating a full crock of chili and two bags a tortilla chips - never saying a word, just nods and smiles. We have been best mates ever since.

Ashley Mullins

Bridesmaid

The Mullins and my family have know each other long before I was born, originally attending the same church. While Ashley and I grew up together, our friendship blossomed while away at college in Gainesville. There we ran nature trails, went to parties and Gator tailgates, shucked countless oysters, went on road trips and grilled - charcoal - at least three times a week. Being both a nature enthusiast and a lady, Ashley took it upon herself to teach me to walk stilettos. I became a pro after just one night of being slapped with a close hanger every time I stepped out line while walking from our place to the clubs in downtown Gainesville.

Tanner Sawka

Bridesmaid

Tanner and I are the oldest female cousins and it follows that we've had our share of headbutts and adventures. On a cross county trip from Florida to California, we got stuck in a blizzard in Fort Stockton, Texas. People from 100 miles East and West on I-10 were seeking refuge in the town and we were fortunate that a local church was offering shelter and food to travelers like ourselves. The only bar in town was accepting cash only because the credit card and ATM machines had frozen. Not a problem for us; Tanner won us drinks all night by beating the locals at pool.

Kaitlyn Crotty

Bridesmaid

The night I met Wayne, one of the first things he told me was that he has a daughter named Kaitlyn, that she is the most important person in the world to him and that he doesn't like her boyfriend. Less than a month later Wayne invited me for a day on the boat and to meet his daughter. I can't express how nervous I was. We had a good time that day, and since then have enjoyed holidays, family gathers, random outings and a few surprises (both Kaitlyn and Wayne are really into surprise gifts and visits - sometimes I ruin the punch line, most of the time I look on in utter confusion). Now, I look forward to getting together and consider Kaitlyn to be my family, a friend, and occasionally a partner in crime.
