Ashlyn and Kyle first met at their respective roommates' wedding in Belton, TX. Both were attracted to one another, however, nothing happened. Fast forward a couple years to summer 2021, and they had decided to try out dating apps for the first time since COVID made traditional dating options harder. When they saw each other on Hinge, interest was immediately rekindled and they matched one another. After a few weeks of texting back and forth, Kyle and Ashlyn went on their first date together to Little Italy, a local Italian restaurant in Abilene. During the date, both of them thought that this could be the last first date they ever went on, and they were right! As they dated, their relationship continued to grow, and Kyle purchased the perfect ring for Ashlyn. Kyle informed Ashlyn he was proposing by bringing her an energy tea with a ring pop on it, before taking her on a date to their favorite restaurant, Perini Ranch Steakhouse. Kyle proposed at a wedding venue on a bridge over a small lake with a fountain and the sunset in the background. Ashlyn immediately said yes and asked Kyle if he would marry her, and she said yes as well! They celebrated together with friends and family before continuing to build their relationship as they planned their wedding.
