As soon as I had met Ashlyn, I knew we were going to have something very special. So being the proactive type September 28th, 2022 was a day that I had been planning for quite a while. We were on our yearly fall trip to Colorado. I had everything lined up from our schedule, the location of where I would propose, the engagement photographer, and most importantly Ashlyn’s family had come out to celebrate the occasion. We woke up, made breakfast together as usual, and I hinted to Ashlyn to wear something cute since we weren’t doing any big hikes that day. Based on our checkout time and when the photographer would be ready, I had planned a day trip to Mount Evans. Once we arrived it was so windy, they had closed the road to the top pass, but we had a great view of the lakes below the peak. Luna being a typical golden had a nice swim in the freezing water. After that, we decided to head to Beau Jos in Idaho Springs to get some mountain pie. We had eaten here before so it was a safe bet. Then we started heading to Loveland Pass, the place I picked to propose. On the way there Beau Jos was not playing nice with Ashlyn’s stomach. Already late to the proposal time, we quickly stopped on the side of the mountain pass for a pit stop. All this time Ashlyn’s Family was driving up the opposite side of the mountain. Ashlyn was ready to head right to the cabin we were staying in that night, but luckily, I was able to convince her to come to the pass as her stomach started to settle. Tom, our photographer, is already up there just casually taking pics of the views with his huge ass camera. I could tell Ash knew something was up at that point. We walked up to the continental divide at Loveland Pass, wind going crazy, and I got down on one knee to ask the most important question of my life.
