Before we begin the story, Jonas and Ashlyn have grown up near each other, but never really interacted until the time was right! We officially met as adults at the WTAMU Wesley's Freshman party in August of 2023. Jonas was going into a gap year, and Ashlyn was going into her freshman year of music school. We both fully believe that our meeting was an act of God, because originally, neither of us had any desire to go to the party, but we each felt a push to go. We met by chance on the volleyball court and immediately hit it off. The entire night we were inseparable, but all good things must come to an end, and the night was almost over. Ashlyn asked Jonas for his phone number, and Jonas handed Ashlyn his phone. Here's what's funny, Jonas immediately recognized Ashlyns' maiden name because he has worked for her grandfather for YEARS. After the original confusion, we both died of laughter. Originally, we were going to go with some friends to Waffle House after the party, but due to an emergency with Jonas's friend, he had to cancel that night, but not before asking Ashlyn out on a date the next day. Since that date, we have never gone back. We had maybe a week of not dating, because we both wanted to re-meet each other's parents in the context of us being interested in dating each other, since Ashlyn and Jonas's dads have played poker together for years, and their mothers used to work together. The same night that Ashlyn met Jonas's parents, the relationship officially began on September 2nd, 2023. We are thankful to have you join us for the next step of our God-led relationship!
