Ashlund and his parents took me out to breakfast the day before my birthday. They gave me a deconstructed puzzle to build that had a QR code on one side and a landscape picture of a lake surrounded by rocks and trees in the mountains on the other. When the QR code was scanned, a map to Weller Lake Trail was pulled up. His parents said that this led to a geocache scavenger hunt that we were going to do for my birthday. We drive up there, taking in the beautiful foliage of the aspens beginning to change with the season. We go on a short hike up to the lake, and once there, I notice that the puzzle's picture is from the perspective of a grassy knoll, which is on the opposite side of where the trail let out. We bouldered across a rock field to lush field and I started to look in a pile of rocks for the geocache. From behind me, I heard him say "I think I found it" and I turned around to see him on one knee, proposing to me. His parents took pictures of us and then on our way back to town, we decided to go to the Devil's Punchbowl to cliff jump (we have never cliff jumped prior to this). We striped down to our undergarments, crossed the river, and hiked to the top of the cliff. Ashlund and I held hands as we mustered the courage needed to make the jump. His mom gave the count down and we leapt over the edge together into the snowmelt-fed river. We made an epic splash and came up gasping from the shock of the cold, but completely unharmed. We climbed back out, celebrated our feat, and then drove to my Roller Derby match.
