Ashley and Jonathan both attended Bucknell University in the sleepy town of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. While they did not attend Bucknell at the same time because a few years separate them in age, they were close enough to have some of the same amazing friends. Fast forward a decade or so (Ashley and Jonathan both living in London) and those fantastic mutual friends, Kelly and AJ Frey, just so happened to also live in London. Ashley and Jonathan were briefly introduced to each other at AJ’s birthday party in June 2016, but they really hit it off at Kelly and AJ’s wedding on Nantucket in September 2016. It took about 15 minutes after Jonathan met Ashley to realize she was the woman who he wanted to spend the rest of his life with - he just had to find a way not to crumble under the tremendous pressure of meeting the woman he wanted to marry and eventually convincing her to marry him. This was all while spending 4 days together in a house with a group of mutual friends on a tiny island! Fortunately, Ashley was immediately struck by Jonathan’s handsomeness, wittiness and affinity towards The Nutcracker soundtrack, Vineyard Vines and the game of "Cornhole". Ashley knew she had met someone incredibly special who complemented her in every way – it was meant to be! Immediately after returning from the wedding, Jonathan and Ashley decided that the best thing to do would be to take things slowly - so they both took the next several days off of work and spent as much time as possible which each other, culminating in a trip to Oktoberfest in Munich. They have been inseparable ever since, spending nearly every single day together since September 2016 – loving, laughing, traveling together and learning from each other.

Jonathan originally wanted to propose somewhere that was special to the two of them and somewhere that they could come back to with each other, family or friends for years to come. With beautiful alpine landscapes, decadent food (read: cheese) and their shared love for skiing and the outdoors, the picturesque French ski town of Chamonix was an easy choice. Jonathan and Ashley got engaged on March 28th, 2018 on a small, covered bridge in the shadow of Mont Blanc – partially because it was stunningly beautiful and partially because Jonathan was nervous and did not want anyone around. She said yes (!!) and her parents joined them the following day in Chamonix to celebrate the engagement and take in some skiing of their own. The universe swiftly reminded the Groom-to-be of the importance of humility. While out to dinner to celebrate with Ashley and her parents, Jonathan choked on a delicious, but under-cooked piece of beef, had to excuse himself 3 times and actually threw up at the table. Jonathan was glad he had proposed prior to this meal. Ashley and Jonathan live in Canary Wharf, London where they can be seen sailing, playing tennis and having a few drinks at Boisdale.
