Enterprise is where I usually find the best deals on car rentals. Airport rental probably best for everyone traveling from USA. Remember we drive on other side of the road and car over there. Newway car rental is another some friends recommend. I have used my chase sapphire card for car rental insurance over there in the past. So look into your credit card benefits for any perks associated that will eliminate insurance costs.

Flight

JFK or Newark - Dublin

Flight booking availability will open for September this year for September 2026. I recommend you look at flight pricing then. Priceline to look for would be $400-600 PP. Airlines I usually fly with - Aer lingus, Delta, United but ask me if any questions about booking flights.

Recommended Areas to Stay for USA Guests Taking Vacation in Ireland Also

TRAVEL SUGGESTION: Arrive in Ireland 9/15 or 9/16. Stay in Dublin and tour the attractions there. Wedding is 9/17 so stay in venue or surrounding area. Day 2 on 9/18 is still TBD but will be within 1 hour drive. Patrick wants to organize a golf outing with all the USA folks on 9/20. (obviously optional) I am trying to figure out a locations where there will be accommodation for them 2 nights for you all. On 9/21 you should go and explore the west coast of Ireland. Counties I recommend - Donegal, Sligo, Mayo, Galway, Clare, Cork and Kerry. This side of Ireland has a lot of attractions and family orientated activities. The beaches are also fabulous along this coast (if we are lucky with the Weather). I would search towns within this area such as - Westport, Galway City, Salthill, Doolin, Enniscrone, Tralee, Dingle, Killarney, Lahinch. The wedding location is 1h drive from Dublin City. All the suggested locations to Vacation are approx. 2-3 hrs from Wedding Venue. For folks thinking of traveling and staying together, it might be easiest to get an AIR B&B in any of the mentioned surrounding areas and travel from there. Also could book cheap B&Bs along the way down there. I recommend anyone who is making a vacation out of it to take like 3-5 days to travel around after the wedding. If this much travel isn't doable I can recommend nice areas to travel and see along the east coast or North of the country. Everyone has different plans so please feel free to text me individually for ideas and recommendations.
