I'll never forget how Jon and I were forcibly introduced! Sitting at the table with a couple of friends, drinking beers casually when my best friend's brother-in-law brings up meeting this guy on his hockey team. At the time I was very serious about my bodybuilding competitions and he proceeded to tell me how similar we were. Although I said, "No thank you," he had already begun to FaceTime Jon. I was mortified. Jon finally answered, shirtless, prepping his chicken meals for the week. Ill have to admit, I was intrigued but still not convinced. That's when phase 2 went into effect. Maybe a week later my best friend plans a fun small gathering for dinner and drinks, leaving out that Jon would be there. I found out shortly on our way and remember chucking makeup at her angerly! "I wasn't ready," I thought frantically. Jon was the last to arrive, keeping me on the edge of my seat as he finally rounded the corner. He was so cute, I thought. Not really getting a chance to talk and get to know each other, we decide to exchange numbers before parting ways. We planned our first date shortly after. A real date was going to be tough with me in the middle of prepping for a competition. No drinking, no eating out, we decided to plan a date at my apartment which was not ideal. I received a text from him declaring he had something for us to do. I thought to myself "ugh, if he brings over a movie and thinks he's gonna get handsy, he's got another thing coming!". He arrives, with a PUZZLE in hand. I LOVE PUZZLES! He even had this adorable pun to go with the puzzle. A picture of beer bottles, " because this is as drunk as you're allowed to get for a while." I loved it. I immediately texted my best friend and tell her what he brought. I'll never forget her reaction. "EW, a puzzle?" Puzzles are not her thing. "Oh my gosh, you guys are SOOO meant for each other," knowing how much I loved puzzles. That's all it took, I knew.
