Like so many things in 2020, Nitin and Ashli’s story began in the midst of uncertainty. In June, they first connected like how many do nowadays, with a swipe! When the world was navigating a global pandemic, and life was anything but ordinary, they found something unexpected—an undeniable connection. After weeks of late-night conversations and getting to know each other from a distance, they decided to take the leap and meet in person. It was July 2020, and the world was still holding its breath. But Ashli and Nitin were determined to create their own moment, to see if the spark they felt online could translate into real life. So they met—masked, cautious, and a little nervous, but also excited. As soon as they locked eyes, the chemistry was instant. They immediately knew they had something special. Nitin first showed up outside Ashli's work with a vase of flowers and took her to lunch. They talked for hours over tacos and margs, how ironic! Their first official date took place at a drive-in movie theater to see Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on the big screen. They laughed, shared stories, and enjoyed each other’s company in a way that felt comfortable and easy—despite the world being anything but. From that moment on, they were inseparable!! Their love grew quietly at first, as they navigated the challenges of a world turned upside down during city wide curfews, quarantines, etc. Little did they know, the pandemic was not the only challenge they would face. Just 6 months into their relationship, Ashli fell ill and Nitin was by her side every step of the way with unwavering love and support. Over the next several years, they not only grew stronger as a couple, but they also learned how to face life's obstacles hand-in-hand. Fast forward to a beautiful spring day in May 2024, at Rosie’s Wine Garden in Uptown Charlotte. It was there, surrounded by love, laughter, and the perfect setting that Nitin stood with a blue box in hand ready to get down on one knee ready to ask Ashli the most important question of their lives. With a smile on her face, and a heart full of love, the answer was, of course, yes. Ashli and Nitin couldn’t be more excited to begin this next chapter of their lives with you. From a first date with tacos and margs in July 2020 to getting married in Mexico in July 2025! They cannot wait to celebrate a love that has only grown stronger with time, they know that together, they will build a life full of love and adventure.
