Ashley & Zach met through mutual friends at a haunted barn Zach was working at sometime in October of 2010. While they weren't formally introduced, there was a small opening in the barn wall that they casually talked through. A year later, they met at a friends house and finally got to see the person on the other side of the wall. After dating two years in High School, Zach went off to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln which kick-started their five year long distance relationship. The year after, Ashley went off to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Many weeks of 20 hour car trips followed and finally both Ashley & Zach were back home just a couple streets apart. In the summer of 2018, Zach asked Ashley to marry him on a beautiful ocean over-look at the Sea Captain's House in Myrtle Beach. Spoiler alert: She said yes!

Ashley & Zach love to go on road trips during the summer and visited the east coast for the second time. After finishing a delicious meal at the Sea Captain's House, they sat on a swinging bench overlooking the Atlantic Ocean out back. Zach contacted the local newspaper of the Sun Times of Myrtle Beach to print an ad featuring him and Ashley. He made a joke that the people in the paper looked just like them (which it was). After Ashley read the excerpt printed in the ad, Zach got on one knee and asked her to marry him.
