Who said online dating doesn't work? With no more than a picture of a puppy, a simple swipe right on bumble, and confirmation that Pete still had his charming British accent, Ashley knew she was all-in. For Pete, he was just relieved that she wasn't a "6.1 catfish living in her mums' basement". From there, they embarked on an exceptional first date. As soon as she stepped out of the Uber, he knew she was the one. In no time at all, they were inseparable. They knew they were made for each other! A few years later, after moving houses three times, lots of vacations, and countless "important" conversations about digital licensing, VR, garage music, collagen, and weight gain, Ashley and Pete finally decided it was time!!
The proposal happened on a trip to the beautiful island of Saint Lucia. Pete had planned every detail from asking permission, picking the location, choosing the ring, to selecting the perfect words to pop the question. On the other hand, she thought she was doing a holiday photo shoot, which she sold to Pete as a "quick" photoshoot "for us," which quickly turned into a two-hour shoot for her. The shoot involved three outfit changes and "retraining" the professional photographer on how he could capture "her best angle." The photographer enjoyed it so much that he said to Pete during outfit change #3, "Are you sure about this, bro? Do you really want to get married to this girl? She seems like a lot of work!" Needless to say, Pete was positive that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Ashley, and 30 minutes later, he finally got her to the perfect spot where he went on bended knee and popped the question. She said YES.
