Lauren is Ashley's younger sister. She lives in Kansas City with her wonderful boyfriend, Luke, and darling pup, Zola who have both become very much a part of the family. Lauren's fabulous taste extends beyond the people (and pups) she brings into her life. She has graciously agreed to navigate the majority of the wedding decor and day-of coordination, and helped Ashley in and out of a ridiculous number of bridal gowns before we found "the one". She's hilarious, brilliant, truly lovely, and phenomenally patient.
Tyler Counts
Best Man
Tyler is Tim's younger brother and, like Lauren, has a better sense of style than either the bride or the groom. He lives in West Palm Beach, Florida, and is our only family in the state! Tyler works in a top Florida resort and is a licensed realtor. Tyler graduated with Lauren and they have been friends since childhood. His dry wit and intelligence make him a pleasure to be around and he will certainly keep us all on our toes, polished, and entertained throughout the wedding weekend!
Shaun Steeby
Bridesmaid
Shaun and Ashley met at the University of Missouri while Shaun was in residency and Ashley was residency coordinator. The two became fast friends. Shaun lives outside of Topeka, Kansas with her husband, Bill, their son, Dawson, and their giant Saint Bernards, Gunner and Grace. She is an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon, a Cross Fit master, and is incredibly, amazingly dedicated to everything and everyone she engages in. Ashley's very favorite memory with Shaun is being really, really proud of ourselves for building a bonfire... and promptly being informed our area was under a burn ban by Dawson.
Grant Beavers
Groomsman
Grant is Ashley's younger brother. He currently lives and works in the St. Louis area and is a member of the US ARMY. He is a talented musician and enjoys playing guitar in his spare time. He has recently caught the travel bug as well. We love hearing about all his adventures and can't wait to see where he goes next! Grant is a gentleman through-and-through, and will jump to open a door, offer a jacket, or carry a bag - even for his sisters! Grant has a heart of gold, a wonderful spirit of adventure, great determination, and incredible patience (since he grew up with a pretty opinionated sister on either side). Tim is looking forward to watching football and having a couple of beers with his new brother.
Allie Mayfield
Bridesmaid
Allie Mayfield is one of Tim's oldest friends and Ashley feels like she's getting another sister! Allie lives in Ste. Genevieve, MO with her fiance, Dan, and their ever expanding herd of dogs, cats, & chicks. Tim and Allie have been through a lot of ups and downs over their 14 year friendship. When things were the best (like now!) and when they were the worst, their friendship was always a constant. Allie's participation in this ceremony is of utmost importance to Tim and Ashley as they commit to each other forever. When Tim introduced Allie to Ashley, they became fast friends. Tim and Ashley will be sharing in Allie and Dan's ceremony in June, 2018 with Tim as officiant & Ashley as bridesmaid. We could not be more thrilled to celebrate both of them and to be a part of their lives!
Bobby Craig
Groomsman
Bobby is Tim's cousin. Bobby lives in St. Louis and grew up in Black, MO. Tim and Bobby spent their younger years competing to be the favorite grandchild of their grandparents. Tim is convinced that he was the favorite, and as the Groom he suspects that no one will argue...at least not today. Tim and Bob enjoy talking sports, and Tim has welcomed Bob as a KC Chiefs fan ever since the Rams left St. Louis. Bob, along with other members of the family, visited Tim in Panama while he was working on the Third Set of Locks project. They had a great time exploring that culture and the non-Bud Light beers that were available. Ashley is looking forward to learning as many embarrassing things she can about Tim from Bob as possible.
Veda Benz
Flower Girl
Veda is the daughter of Tim and Daisy Benz and the big sister of Elton! Tim has been friends with Tim and Daisy for many years and has been Veda's "Uncle Tim" for as long as she could talk. Tim and Veda are always so excited when they get to see each other and we cannot believe how much more grown up she seems on every visit! We are so excited to have Veda join us for our ceremony and perform what is arguably the most important task - the Flower Girl.
