Love you to the lake and back

Zac and I were both invited out on Blake's boat. Blake is my cousin that I have always been close to. However Blake has also been Zac's neighbor turned to best friend and now more like family. You can just call Blake Hitch at this point. When Blake asked me on boat I said if it's the same group of guys from last time I'll pass. I'll spare you that story. Blake informed me it wouldn't be that group of friends instead it was his high school friends that luckily know how to drive a boat and back a trailer. Alright I was in! I love the lake and seldom turn down the offer for a boat ride. I didn't know it at the time but I figured out that on the list of qualifications of my future husband would be "knows how to drive a boat and back a trailer". Luck would have it that Zac carries both of these qualities followed by so many others that I am still blown away to this day of all the things he can do. That day the boat broke down. Blake turned to me and said "if your going to be broke down you want to be broke down with him (Zac) he knows how to fix a lot of stuff". That statement stuck with me. Zac didn't fix the boat that day. However we hit it off, in fact we didn't stop talking the entire day. Zac later told me he was shy and doesn't talk much I thought "yeah right". Zac messaged me on Facebook the next day for my number. In the message he said he hated to ask me via Facebook. Now knowing Zac I'm surprised he even knew his Facebook password or better yet how to message people on Facebook. When I got the message I jumped and danced around my duplex with a huge smile on my face. That day my sorority sisters were moving back to Tahlequah from summer break. I couldn't wait to tell them I had met a boy! Zac and I had a slow start, I guess past heartbreaks will make you gun shy to the thought of relationships. We met in August. First date was October. The rest is history. If I'm ever broke down literally or in life I'm so glad to have Zac and that he has me.

Popping The Question

Tequila and Tan Lines

Zac and I were headed to Mexico a week before Christmas. Both of us were looking forward to a relaxing break. Between grad school, work and hunting we had not had much time to relax. If you have been to Mexico you know it is easy to get wrapped up in the drinks. The first night we were at our resort we both ordered up many drinks and some ribeye steaks. When its all inclusive you go all in! We ended the night early as it had been a long day of traveling. Before we went to bed Zac asked if I would get up with him, go snorkeling and watch the sunrise. I quickly said yes. However Zac kept on saying will you please get up and go. I said I promise I will. I didn't know if he had more margaritas than I thought or what but didn't understand why he was so concerned with me getting up. The next morning we both got up and walked down to the beach. It was windy, the sun wasn't coming up, and it was a bit cold. My eyes kept watering from the wind and Zac could tell I was uncomfortable. The water was too choppy to snorkel so we just set on beach chairs waiting for the sun to come up. Zac noticed I wasn't really into being at the beach this early as it was cold and windy. He says he felt pressured and knew he had to ask quick. He was reaching into his snorkel bag and I said "what are you digging for?" "Are you going to go snorkeling?" I was confused. He didn't answer me which is normal for Zac. Moments later he pulled out a tiny black box. He got down on one knee and popped the question. I of course said yes. I was shocked, happy and so excited to start this journey with my favoirte person. This Mexico trip is a trip I will never forget.
