What is a couple send off?

Answer

The couple send off is a combination of a bridal/wedding shower and wedding celebration. We will be playing shower games/activities as well as will have food and a bottomless mimosa bar with a cash bar for other options.

If it is a shower, are all genders invited?

Answer

Yes! This is a CO-ED event. All that are listed on the invite are welcome and encouraged to attend.

What is the dress code for the send off?

Answer

Cocktail attire is requested. Dresses, dress pants, button ups. No jeans, flip flops or sandals.

Is there parking at the Chicago Send Off?

Answer

Yes! Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling has plenty of parking on site.

Are there hotels/lodging near the venue for the Chicago Send Off?

Answer

Yes! Hotels are listed under the 'travel' section of our website. We do not have a hotel block, but there should be plenty of rooms available.

What food will be provided at the Chicago Send off?

Answer

A predetermined brunch/lunch menu will be served with a bottomless mimosa option. Cash bar will be available. Menu modifications can be made on request due to dietary restrictions but should be noted on your RSVP response.

How do I know if I can RSVP to Bulgaria?

Answer

We appreciate everyone's understanding that not all are able to be invited abroad to our wedding ceremony in Bulgaria. Your invitation/RSVP will make it clear if we are requesting your RSVP for the send off, Bulgaria ceremony, or both.

What is the dress code for the Bulgaria ceremony?

Answer

Elevated cocktail attire- dresses, suits, dress pants, button up shirts.

What are the lodging situations in Bulgaria?

Answer

If attending the Bulgaria ceremony you have a few options: reserve at the hotel we reserved blocks at for the wedding listed under 'Travel' tab of our website, find a hotel of your choice, or reserve an Air Bnb. Note that the hotel blocks are only reserved for the night before and night of the wedding. Should you need more time at the hotel you will have to request for a room extension.

What are transportation options in Bulgaria?

Answer

Once your travel has been booked, please notify the bridge and groom of your travel itinerary as well as if you will be renting a car. If you are not renting a car, please make sure to tell the bride and groom so that they can arrange for your pickup from the Sofia airport.

Can I drive myself to the Bulgaria venue?

Answer

While there is technically parking at the venue, we would prefer for most guests to travel in the provided transportation from the hotel. Transportation will bring guests both to the venue and back to the hotel once the evening is over. If driving separately is necessary, there is parking available.

Can I bring a gift to the Bulgaria celebration?

Answer

While we appreciate your generosity, due to the nature of our ceremony in Bulgaria we ask that any gifts you wish to give either be mailed to us directly (2249 N Enlund Dr. Unit 2 Palatine, IL 60074), brought to the Chicago Send Off, or be in card form abroad. Packing space is limited and we do not want to risk damaging anything during our travels home!

When should I arrive/leave Bulgaria?

Answer

Please feel free to arrive in Bulgaria at your convenience. Vlad and I will land the Sunday before the wedding, but have no expectations for our guests to arrive that early (but will be around if you do). Wedding events will begin the afternoon of the 17th, so please arrive before then. We also plan to stay in Bulgaria Friday to spend more time with our guests, and will be leaving for our honeymoon that Saturday. Please feel free to spend an extra day with us after the wedding or continue your travels elsewhere!

Is there anything else to know about Bulgaria?

Answer

YES-LOTS. It is a beautiful country with A TON of history. Main things to be aware of is that English is not widely spoken. In Sofia, you will have more luck running into someone who speaks broken English- but if you stray from the capitol then you may need to resort to an online translation app (make sure this is downloaded and has Bulgarian prior to you leaving). Also- Bulgaria has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for recreational drugs (yes weed). So if you choose to pack this, please know that if you are found with this you do risk being arrested. Driving- renting cars is encouraged if you plan to explore the country. With that being said, the roads typically are narrow and can be on a significant incline if traveling to a monument/hike. Please be careful and safe! Rakia is the native 'moonshine'/strong alcohol of choice. This is typically sipped with the meal and eaten with salad and a meat. Yes means no and No means yes- if you nod you are saying no, and if you shake your head you are saying yes! Looking for a nearby beach? The black sea is a beautiful beach hot spot for most of Europe. Sunny beach famous for its hot beaches and beach parties with night life that will keep your party going late into the next morning!
