For a great new way to explore NYC, try the new ferry system! It's one of our favorite ways to get around in the summer. You can download the app on your phone to purchase electronic tickets or purcase at the booths near the ferry. Cost is $2.75 which is the same as a subway ride.
One of our favorite places in NYC to spend a relaxing afternoon is Govenor's Island. A former military fort, it's now a public park with food trucks and a variety of events throughout the summer. Visit the Hills for breathtaking city views of the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor rising 70 feet above sea-level. Visit the hammock fields to stretch out and relax or hit up the many playgrounds and slides to have some fun. You can reach the island via ferry service from the NYC ferry or Govenor's Island Ferry. See the website for more information.
