Tom proposed during a trip to the North Carolina Outer Banks in June 2021.
She was on to his plan from the beginning of the day. He was way more nervous than he had intended and it showed.
They set off up a flight of rickety stairs to the top of Bodie Lighthouse.
After making it to the top, his nerves had fully set in. The combination of proposing from the top of a 156 ft lighthouse with a cast on his hand wasn't ideal but he couldn't wait another day.
He issued a mumbled murmur of adoration followed by, "Will you marry me?"
She mumbled back, "Yes."
Their friends were in on his plan and were there to capture the moment. It was a perfect day from start to finish!
Although COVID-19 may have delayed some of their travel plans, Tom and Ashley have still managed to create many memories together. From lake days and beach trips to camping trips and day hikes, UNC basketball to Clemson football, Disney World to Dallas, they are excited about the many more adventures together to come.
