Day one of the pre-wedding celebrations is Sangeet Night, both families come together to celebrate the upcoming union. Expect a vibrant night filled with music, dancing, and henna. While this is the suggested attire, it is not required. Women can choose from sarees, lehengas or Anarkali suits. While men can opt for sherwanis, or kurta.

Day two of the pre-wedding celebrations is Maticoor Night, also known as Dig-Dutty, honoring the Hindu Gods and Goddesses, Maticoor Night pays tribute to the earth while seeking blessings for a joyful and prosperous marriage. The bride and groom are ceremonially anointed with turmeric paste, symbolizing purification and beautification in preparation for their wedding day. The celebration is filled with the vibrant rhythms of tassa drums, traditional songs, and prayers.
11:30 am - 5:00 pm
Attire: Women can choose from sarees, lehengas, Anarkali suits, or formal dress. While men can opt for sherwanis, kurta, or formal suit.
Baraat: The groom arrives in a celebratory procession with family and friends. Kanyadaan: Bride's parents formally entrust their daughter to the groom Vivaha Homa: A sacred fire is lit as a divine witness. Prayers and offerings are made. Panigrahana: The groom takes the bride’s hand, accepting responsibility and partnership. Mangal Pheras / Saptapadi (Seven Steps): The couple circles the sacred fire seven times, making vows of: To nourish & provide for each other, & for the household. To develop physical, mental, & spiritual strength together. To prosper, acquire wealth, & manage finances together. To acquire knowledge, happiness, & harmony through mutual love & respect. To raise strong, virtuous children & care for them. To be faithful, self-restrained, & together in all seasons. To remain lifelong partners, friends, & companions. Sindoor & Mangalsutra: Groom applies vermillion (sindoor) in the bride’s hair parting and ties a sacred necklace (mangalsutra), symbolizing marriage.

In the wedding ceremony we will exchange vows and rings before God. After the ceremony, please join us for cocktail hour, a time to enjoy drinks and appetizers while mingling. The evening concludes with our reception; dinner, toasts, cake, and dancing to celebrate.
