Ashley and Sam met on Tinder and exchanged a few messages, before Ashley decided impulsively to delete the app from her phone, which in turn deleted all communication with Sam. Ashley couldn't get Sam out of her head or her heart, though, so she did what many do in today's world of technology: she stalked Sam relentlessly on all forms of social media. Ashley quickly added Sam on Instagram and Twitter, but Sam didn't follow back, so she didn't get any of the direct messages that Ashley was sending. Ashley, refusing to let Sam get away, took her stalking to the next level and found Sam on Google Hangouts (prior to this encounter, Ashley didn't know what Google Hangouts was or why that was easier to find than Sam's email address). Ashley waited anxiously for a few days, worried that she had lost her chance, when finally Sam noticed Ashley's message on Google Hangout and Ashley was able to get those digits and convince Sam to go out on a date. At least, Ashley thought it was a date...Sam wasn't quite sure if Ashley was looking for friendship or something more. Ashley was definitely looking for something more.

The following week, on a stormy Monday evening, Sam and Ashley had their first date at the Skytop Starbucks on Beechmont Avenue. The date went so well, Ashley and Sam didn't realize that they had stayed past closing time and found themselves sitting in the middle of the Starbucks employee pizza party....awkward. As they walked to their cars, too nervous to hug each other goodbye, Ashley ended the night by saying simply "I'll talk to you." Sam wasn't quite sure what that meant. Later that night, before bed, Ashley sent Sam a message joking about something they had talked about...at that point, both of them knew that date was the beginning of something amazing.
