We’re getting married!

It was the end of summer in 2017, Peabo was in his fourth season of playing professional soccer in Jacksonville, Florida with the Armada. Ashley had just started cosmetology school and was making new life long friends there. We both had the dating app, Bumble, and we both swiped right on each other’s profiles. For those who don't know, that means we liked each other pictures. With Bumble, the ladies have to message first to kick off any conversation, so Ashley starts with something charming and original, “Hi, I'm Ashley!” You could say she had him at hello. We had our first date in Neptune Beach at a taqueria & tequila bar, Flying Iguana. Ashley basically talked the entire time, like there was an instant sense of comfort and connection, and we chatted until the restaurant closed. As we made our way outside, we ended up talking about our cars and were joking about how Peabo had a sunroof, and Ashley didn't. As we were driving off, we ended up next to each other at the stoplight, and Peabo waves goodbye, through his sunroof. For Ashley, this was the moment that solidified that this was going to be the start of a beautiful adventure. We did long distance for the first few years of our relationship, due to Ashley being in Florida and Peabo traveling for his soccer career. We ended up settling in DC in 2021, and love this city so much, there is no other place we would rather be wed than home.
