Los Portales "Lugar Típico"

Los Portales is the heart of Comala and a true local experience. It’s a central plaza surrounded by open-air restaurants, cantinas, and cafes all under traditional arches (portales). You simply walk up, choose a table, and order from whichever restaurant you’re seated at. Expect live mariachi or banda music, especially in the evenings Famous for botanas (small complimentary bites brought with drinks) Try local specialties like ponche, tostadas, sopes, and pan dulce Very casual, social, and lively—perfect for people watching and relaxing It’s common to sit for hours enjoying drinks, snacks, and conversation as the town comes alive around you.
