We both swiped right, and the rest is history! Our love story began on Bumble while I was in Illinois for grad school. Wanting to widen my options, I set my match radius as far from Charleston, IL, as possible (haha) and that’s how I found Luke. After what felt like endless swiping, he immediately stood out. Unlike the others, he didn’t waste any time and asked me on a date right away. Our first date was at Distihl in Champaign, IL, and from that moment on, we were inseparable. Despite the hour-long drive between us, we spent every day together that week... because when you know, you know.

Luke had been holding onto the ring since January, waiting for the perfect moment to propose. Since we don’t get many days off together, when the opportunity finally came, he knew it was the right time. Funny enough, I unknowingly set him up for it. I was the one who suggested taking our dogs Milo and Callie on a hike that day. As we walked along the trail, Luke suddenly asked if we could take a photo with the dogs, which is completely out of character for him. I didn’t think much of it and went along with it, not realizing he was actually propping up his phone to capture the entire proposal! When he got down on one knee, I was completely overwhelmed with surprise and excitement. Of course, I said yes! It was a spontaneous, unforgettable moment that I’ll cherish forever.
