Finally! We are getting married!

We met twice in one lifetime! The first time was on social media. I can’t remember the dates; I remember being pregnant with my Son. He slid in my DM but wasn’t saying the right things, so he got no play and didn’t bother pursuing further!! Fast forward to September 26, 2013, when at the time, my best friend, which was his cousin, pulled to my house. I came out of my bedroom, and my eyes locked with this chocolate drop with locs golden brown eyes and a smile that would calm any storm. After conversations, I learned my last name was his mother’s first name, and I discovered his mother and I were both Leo’s. I knew he had no kids and was single! To me, that’s the definition of heaven-sent. At that moment, I knew he was the one!

I had just gotten back from a birthday extravaganza in Las Vegas. Dre wanted to take the family out to Golden Corral. It was our kids, his sister, his niece, his nephews, and my brother at the table; Dre said come here, Ashley, Sit down! Out of my peripheral, I see his sister and her man pull out phones and get the camera ready as I watch Dre kneel on one knee. Then he pulls out this Leo diamond princess cut collection ring. Tears immediately formed 9 1/2 years with the man I knew I would spend the rest of my life with.
