Everybody says that nothing good happens after 2am.. we'll in this case the saying is completely wrong. At 3 in the morning in a basement, is not the ideal place to meet the love of your life; but that is how their story starts. In April of 2013, Kyle was on leave for his sisters wedding, and Ashley was living at home while going to school. They were hanging out with some friends after a party, and that is when they met, and the friendship began. They grew up only living 4 blocks from each other, had two classes together, and yet never knew each other existed. As Kyle was only on leave and permanently living in California, they exchanged numbers... and then did not talk for four months... Until Kyle came home again and he finally took her out on their first date to go see "We're the Miller's". Only for him to go back to California, yet again.
Since Kyle and Ashley were living halfway across the country from each other, they decided to keep contact through phone calls and the occasional letter. Weekly Sunday night phone calls became daily phone calls. Hours were spent laughing on the phone until the morning came; and feelings for each other began. For two years, the phone calls happened, secrets were shared and the feelings were put out there. They knew that they wanted to be together, but the distance was keeping it from happening. Eventually, Kyle's term in the Marine Core was coming to an end and he was going to move back home, which is where Ashley still was. The night after he moved back, over Aurelios and Grey Goose, it was decided that it was time to make it "official" and start dating.
Kyle an Ashley have always had an unconventional relationship, and seem to do things backwards. But it seems to work very well for them. No relationship is perfect, and at times they had their faults, but there was never a time where they didn't love each other. They welcomed their beautiful daughter Nora in March of 2017. After over a year of growing together as a family and carefully nurturing their love, they finally decided to tie the knot. They realized that their little trio was exactly what God had in store for them.
