FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

For the wedding, black-tie is requested: tuxes and gowns are preferred, but dark suits and formal cocktail dresses are also welcome. For the welcome party, we suggest cocktail attire: cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, and dark jackets and slacks.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your children, but in order to allow all wedding guests, including parents, a night of relaxation and uninhibited revelry, we respectfully ask that no children attend. If you need help making arrangements for childcare in Chicago, please contact us and we will do our best to assist.

Question

Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Answer

Yes! If you have a food sensitivity or allergy in your party, please let us know about it when you RSVP. We will pass the details along to our planners and caterers to ensure you receive a meal that is safe and delicious!

Question

I don't know anything about Chicago. Where will I be and where else should I go?

Answer

The InterContinental is located on the "Magnificent Mile", in River North. Other great neighborhoods to visit include the West Loop (where Ashley and Justin live!) and Fulton Market District, Wicker Park, Lincoln Park, Wrigleyville and Logan Square. Visit the "Things to Do" page for an extensive list of recommended restaurants, bars and activities.

Question

How do I get around?

Answer

Ubers, Lyfts, and Taxis are all readily available from both airports to take you to the hotels. If you fly into ORD and are feeling adventurous/want to travel like a local, the Blue Line of the El also runs from inside the airport terminal to downtown (only recommended if traveling with light luggage, though!). Once you arrive at the hotel you will be in the heart of Chicago's Magnificent Mile, where nearly anything you could need (restaurants, bars, coffee, pharmacies, groceries, and even department stores) will be easily accessible within just a few blocks. For any trips outside of walking-distance, Ubers and Lyfts are typically abundant and easy to get fairly quickly and at a reasonable price.

Question

Do I need transportation for the wedding?

Answer

With the exception of the Welcome Party, all of our wedding weekend events are on site at the InterContinental. If you are staying at the Hyatt Centric, it is about a 5 minute walk (3 1/2 blocks) to the InterContinental.
