By pure chance, we both went to the same karaoke bar one late night in May. Josh was with his friends, enjoying his drink and listening to people trying to sing when I came bursting into the room, yelling at my friends for switching karaoke spots without updating me. Josh saw me from across the bar and for some reason, told his friend, 'I need to talk to her.' Soon enough, Josh found a way to get next to me and strike up a conversation. I was still coming off my temper and asked him why he wanted to talk to me even after my loud entrance? He just smiled and said, 'You seem like an interesting girl.' and now we are getting married.
There was a running joke in our friends/family that there is a count down to our engagement. Josh had once asked during the first year of our relationship what I expected from 'this'. I was honest and told him I could see us getting married but I didn't want to wait on egg shells with 'will he? wont he?' so I told him, 'I can wait like 5 years? We should be engaged by our 5th anniversary'. Josh said that was doable. Josh WAITED FOR 5 YEARS. Anytime someone would ask when we would get engaged, he would just say, ' in 4 years'; ' in 3 years'; 'I got 2 more years. She gave me a time limit and I'm using it.' So on our 5th anniversary, in the privacy of our home. Josh asked me to marry him. It was simple, it was sweet and it was perfect.
