We're that typical online dating couple... We both took a chance on Match and had about a week left in our memberships. For some reason, Josh thought sending Ashley a message saying "Hey, how's it going?" would work. She got the message and laughed - I mean, that's a lame pickup line, right? Well, after 3 days, she kept going back to the message and decided to respond...the rest is history :) I kid, I kid. After exchanging a few messages, Josh asked for Ashley's number and they texted for a few weeks before agreeing to a first date. Ashley made Jambalaya and Josh brought Oreo Cheesecake (Ashley's favorite.) After a few hours of chatting and watching Thursday Night Football, they were both hooked (but didn't know it yet.) They quickly became inseparable - spending a lot of time watching football together and falling in love.
Josh bought the ring back in March - but Ashley kept ruining his proposal plans by making vacation plans and other activities. Josh finally convinced her to leave Labor Day weekend open - and booked a trip to Surfside Beach for the weekend. He had big plans for a romantic sunset proposal - but Mother Nature had a different idea. It rained almost the entire weekend (and the mosquitoes were terrible!) The night berore they were leaving, Josh and Ashley went on a late night walk on the beach. Right before walking back up to the condo, Josh stopped and got down on one knee. She said yes - and the wedding planning began!
We opted for an intimate destination wedding on the white sand beaches of Gulf Shores, AL. We will be live streaming the ceremony for our friends and family back home - and will be sharing photos as soon as we can!
