We were setup on a blind date at Three Angry Wives, and I was reminded many times how I needed to meet this guy because of how amazing everyone said he was. Josh was a few weeks shy of graduating the police academy, and I was navigating through life day by day. Walking up to him I knew he was special. We had a few drinks, and went bowling that night with mutual friends. He asked me out on a date for dinner and a movie the very next night, and we never left each others side after that. We purchased our home after being together for six months, and I would not have it any other way. Destined to be together is really how I would describe life with him. Our moms have worked together for over 20 plus years at the same hospital and we never met until that night on February 24, 2018. I could not imagine my life without him, and to think it all started with a blind date at the best pub in town.
Well it all started with the ring! My plan was to make the ring sentimental and special, and to do that I used some diamonds from both Ashley’s side and my side of the family to be incorporated. I was able to get diamonds for the band from my great grandmother, and the diamonds for the setting from Ashley’s grandmother. The final center stone, Ashley’s favorite, a cushion cut, was picked out by myself to bring the whole ring together! It was then time for the proposal! I had it planned out to be done at Strawberry Point in Duck Creek, Utah. Ashley had an inkling that I was going to propose while we were there but I may have used a few white lies to throw her off the scent! Ashley and I, along with many friends and family made our way up to the peak of Strawberry Point. A quick walk and maybe a nerve calming Coors Light or two up to the top and it was time! Ashley was told we were setting up for a picture as I set up behind her on one knee. She turned around to find her suspicions were true and couldn’t have been happier about the proposal! Ever since then it’s been a fun journey planning our wedding.
