Our lives got hitched-up, writing our vows. And I’d liked to take a minute, just sit right there. I'll tell you how this couple grew with love in the air. After half a year of unknowingly being each other’s “work crush,” in the summer of 2018, we decided to take our friendship to the next level. We celebrated the end of a school year with dinner and a few beers at the diveyest dive bar in West Chester. I don’t think Jon had ever talked so much or so fast while Ashley listened and laughed (even if his jokes weren’t funny). Jon fell head over heels immediately, embarrassingly so, while Ashley’s eyes truly opened when she saw the Christmas flowers on her doorstep. While it seemed like the math teacher and counselor had little in common, we soon ate one too many Capriotti’s hoagies together and found that our passions for our family, friends, careers, and pop2k music made us into the team we are today. Fast forward 2 years, we found ourselves not only surviving a burst pipe and a total reconstruction of the first floor, but thriving in a pandemic together. And while we’ve turned this house into a home, we’ve poured all of our love and energy into our two “kids:” Nittany and Flirt. In the Fall of 2020, we jokingly considered a wedding at a brewery catered by food trucks without a thought from Ashley about actually tying the knot. Little did she know, Jon had already bought a ring and planned the perfect pandemic proposal. While the Christmas Margaritas promised on the flyer Jon created to lure her out of the house were missing, waiting in the snow was a cute little pup with a bandana that read “Will you marry my dad?” and the man of her dreams down on one knee. Little did Jon know, when it actually came down to it, Ashley had a hard time letting go of her princess fairy tale wedding with her future prince charming, and unfortunately, food trucks are now out of the question. We looked at our lives, we are happily there, to say “I do” and have all of you there.
