We met while working together at The Bluestone. We instantly became friends and after a while we grew a little closer. There was always this flirtatious vibe, it was just never the right time. However, Joey tried all the time. He would help bartend when Ashley was short staffed, and almost every shift he would ask her on a date. Her technically being his boss, she would always kindly say no. Honestly, she thought he was joking with her. Then one day, Joey invited Ashley and her friends to the Sam Hunt concert. They agreed and Joey knew this was finally his chance to spend time with her outside of work. After giving Joey the runaround most of that afternoon, they all met at the venue. As the night went on there was almost a magnetic connection, it was obvious to both of them. You could almost say that it was love right away. From that point forward we have been inseparable.
After buying the ring right under her nose, the next 9 days were the longest of my life. Not only did I have to keep it a secret, I had to come up with the best way to pop the question. After careful consideration, and help from close friends and family, I decided to keep it fairly simple. Romantic dinner at one our favorite spots, Buckeye Lake Winery, private tour from the owner, a dozen white roses and 2 red on our 2 year anniversary because I am cheesy like that. Thinking all the surprises are done, we devour two delicious sandwiches like it was our last meal before finishing our glasses of wine on the patio. There was a nip in the air and that was the reason I used for standing up and putting on my jacket, with a box in the left pocket. I turned to Ley and said, "You love me? Forever? You promise? Then got down on one knee and presented the ring and asked if she would marry me. She asked a half dozen times if I was serious but finally said yes and I put the ring on her finger. Just the two of us outside by ourselves......and most of the staff and guests since they all were in on it. May 25th 2017, Ashley said yes.
