Before we were Jimley, we were two kids from LA who moved to Chicago for medical school. We first met on a train going to the city before the start of the school year. And you know how the old story goes. Boy meets girl. Girl tells boy he's not "really" from LA. Boy pulls up maps and Google to argue his point. We quickly settled our disagreement (Ashley can now admit that Torrance is in LA county) and became friends first before we started dating. As Jimley, we have gone through the good, the bad, and the unprecedented together. We had started dating during a quarantine and spent nearly every second of it together. To our surprise, we didn't want to kill each other during confinement and decided we wanted to stay together, even if it meant doing long-distance. Jimmy landed in Oakland and Ashley in Orange County for medical residency training, forcing us to do distance and racking up thousands of miles traveling. Throughout all of that, we found the time to travel (mostly to Hawaii), go to concerts, eat delicious food, and have the best time together. Whether it is being a potato on the couch together or FaceTiming one another on Friday nights, we love spending it together in any way we can.
