Jake and I met at a young adult church group in December of 2019 and our first date was on new years eve. We shot fireworks at his house for a while then when we went inside he played his ukulele and we sang riptide together. After that we watched one of my favorite movies, Galaxy Quest. From then on we were pretty much inseparable and we spent almost everyday together. Only a few months into the relationship the pandemic began and that was our first time ever apart for that long. Neither one of us could handle it anymore so we began having social distancing dates on my grandparents front lawn. I popped the popcorn, brought out the laptop and separated the lawn chairs 6 feet apart. When it had cooled down a bit after that we were back to being inseparable. We spent long hours binge watching new tv shows and the Harry Potter movies. He was with me when I decided to start my own business and drop out of college. And I was with him when he made the decision to start traveling for work in order to save up enough money to get his own place. At that point we had to get used to being separated for months. We would travel to see each other occasionally, but the distance was definitely not ideal. Finally, Jake was able to get his own place in Georgetown and found a job where he's only traveling monday through friday. I got a job as a full time special education aide at Founders Classical Academy. Fast forward to December 31st 2022, on the anniversary of our first date, Jake proposed to me at the Georgetown blue hole where my friends Addy and Shannon were hiding with disguises on taking secret pictures and videos. We are now going through premarital counseling and going to have a covenant ceremony after we are finished in order to move in together and start our lives together.
