Fun fact: Did you know that Jahn & Ashley met on a dating app? Believe it or not, neither of them had ever used a dating app before. They swiped right on each other right as the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic began. Ashley was blessed to have met Jahn, even though she only used the dating app for four days! The pandemic led Ashley to travel back to her hometown in New Jersey, while Jahn lived in Florida. So the two chatted long-distance for over 4 months before finally meeting in person. During that time, Ashley & Jahn got to know each other on a deeper level. They began having late FaceTime calls that lasted until morning, where they talked about God, their values, and dreams for the future. Jahn eventually fell deeply for Ashley, confessed his feelings, and pursued her intentionally. After much persistence and persuasion on Jahn's part, Ashley was left with no choice but to finally agree to start a relationship. (Although honestly, Ashley would agree that this was one of the easiest decisions she ever made.)

It was Jahn & Ashley's 3-year anniversary weekend. To celebrate, Jahn took Ashley on a picnic date at Lake Eola, which is a park they both loved to go on dates. Jahn & Ashley walked to a little picnic set up, and Ashley was eventually surprised by the couple's closest church friends (as seen in the picture above!). Just as Ashley began to get suspicious, Jahn said, "Well, there's nothing left to do... but to enjoy this picnic with our friends!" After successfully throwing Ashley off his tracks, Jahn gave a beautiful speech and suddenly got down on one knee. Ashley was too stunned to speak, but the first thing she managed to say was "YES." Ashley's favorite part of the proposal was joining hands with her now fiancé and friends, as they prayed over their new engagement and future marriage.
