Alta Lodge will be enforcing mask and vaccination status according to their company policy and the CDC guidelines. We will have higher risk and immunocompromised family members at this wedding. Regardless of personal beliefs on masks and the vaccines, we ask that unvaccinated individuals respect the bride and groom's wishes and ensure a negative COVID test and wear a mask while indoors.
We are requesting that children stay home (unless specifically stated on the invitation). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the bride or groom.
Alta Lodge has many stairs and no elevator (It is the original ski resort). However, they do have a free shuttle service that can take you to any of the levels. There is a phone located at the top of the stairs by the parking lot that will connect you to the shuttle.
Both! In good weather, the ceremony and reception will be held outside. Indoor, air-conditioned reception rooms are also open to all guests. Alta Lodge also features multiple nature trails for relaxing walk through aspen pines, spring wild flowers, and the meadow. In inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church (located across the street). The reception and dinner will be held in Alta Lodge's indoor banquet hall.
At this time, we are planning on a mixed open/cash bar. Beer and wine will be hosted by the couple. Liquor and cocktails will be available at the bar for purchase.
Alta Lodge requires guests to call to book a room during the summer. Their phone number is 801-742-3500. https://www.altalodge.com/rooms-rates/

Salt Lake City is a desert. Summer days can top 100 degrees while the nights can be very cold. Luckily, it should be cooler up in the mountains where the venue is located. Keep the warm weather in mind, but maybe bring a layer or two for the evening. Also, due to the potential of short mid-day/early evening thunderstorms, a rain jacket is sometimes recommended. Keep an eye on the forcast! The venue is indoor/outdoor. Stiletto's may be challenging on the patios.
There will not be any sparklers (or explosives) permitted in Little Cottonwood Canyon. It is a national forest.
Dogs are not allowed in Little Cottonwood Canyon since it is the city watershed. However, there are a number of dog boarding facilities located in Salt Lake City if you are bringing your pet.
