What is black tie optional?

Answer

We invite you to dress in formal evening attire. Tuxedos and floor-length gowns are welcome, but not required. A darker colored suit (black, blue, or gray for example) and tie or a longer dress are equally appropriate. We can’t wait to celebrate in style with you!

What is the Union League's dress code?

Answer

A relaxed, well-dressed look described as ‘Smart Casual’ is welcomed throughout the club. Smart Casual may include jeans, denim, and collar-less shirts. Smart Casual attire or better is permitted throughout the Clubhouse with the following exception: In the Wigwam during lunch and evening meals expected attire is Business Casual or better. (Business Casual includes collared shirt, including turtleneck, slacks, dress denim or skirt with blouse or sweater.) Prohibited attire includes: torn jeans, hats, flip-flops, t-shirts, non-dress shorts; sweats (including leggings, warm-ups, and jogging suits) and athletic wear (other than in the Fitness & Wellness areas), frayed, bleached or torn clothing; exposed undergarments; bare midriffs; or excessively revealing clothing or clothing which, in the judgement of the staff, might be offensive to others.

Do you have hotel blocks for guests?

Answer

Yes, we have a hotel block secured at the same location as our reception, the Union League Club of Chicago. Please call 312-427-7800 or 800-443-0578 and mention you are attending the "Dahlquist-Toner wedding." For more information please see the "Hotel, Travel and Parking" tab.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding!

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your little ones! However, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adults-only event with the exception of immediate family. We encourage you to use this evening as a date night!

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony starts promptly at 1:00pm. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to ensure you get your seat in time.
