At a classmate's party one spring evening, we immediately gravitated towards each other. As undergraduate students at UNC, we initially bonded over learning we were in an online class together. The evening quickly progressed to a night of adventure and intellectual conversation (including discussion over our shared theory that aliens built the pyramids). We bonded over our mutual desire to attend medical school & somehow found ourselves in an abandoned house - we definitely thought it was haunted! Here, Ashley learned that Ilon is a talented musician as he played classical music on the out-of-date and out-of-tune piano situated in the abandoned living room. The rest is history. Fast forward to four years later - we are now happily engaged and accepted to the same medical school! We are excited to be living together in Cleveland, OH with our snuggly cat, Miss Brown. We can't wait to see what the future holds for us as we continue our medical education, and grow as a team and as individuals! We are so excited to have our wedding in North Carolina. It will forever hold a special spot in our hearts as the place where we met and fell in love.

Ilon and Ashley first said "I love you" during a famous Franklin Street Halloween celebration. We were dressed as Paula Dean and a stick of butter!

If you know us, you know we love each other so much that we can hardly stand time apart! So one of the greatest joys of our relationship has been exploring the world side-by-side. Aside from countless trips to our families in Austin and Atlanta, one of our fondest memories was traveling to Peru together. Even when Ashley got sick, Ilon was by her side! But more importantly, we got to share and play out our passion for providing medical care for underserved populations as we assisted doctors in campaigns to offer free Pap smears for rural villagers! Where else have we been?! Aside from vacations to New York City, Miami, Washington, D.C., Lake Tahoe, Tampa, Pilot Mountain, Asheville, and New Orleans, we traveled across the country as we attended medical school interviews together in 2019! We explored Philadelphia, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Orlando - and revisited some of our favorites including Miami and New Orleans! We are looking forward to sharing our love for each other in even more places. We also plan to take many weekend trips to Toronto and Chicago while living in Cleveland.
