We met on a college spring break cruise in 2015! One of the days at sea, I (Ashley) got to the pool bright and early. I saw a pool side dance competition going on for “Mr. Sexy Legs”. I saw a guy that I thought I had seen at Ole Miss in the the competition and then he won. I thought it was hilarious. I told some of my friends that night and they told me his name was Hunter and they didn’t know how we hadn’t met yet. The next day, he came up to me while I was laying by the pool and asked if he could sit next to me. I commented on his funny dance moves and we talked for a couple of hours. Before we parted ways (and after he had a few beers too) he told me he wanted to marry me. After the cruise, Hunter asked me to lunch and then dinner and then a month and a half later to be his girlfriend! We’ve been dating ever since!
We dated for four and a half years before Hunter popped the question. I was living in Fort Lauderdale for school and Hunter was living in Jacksonville. Hunter had told me he loved me for the first time, when I was dropping him off for a flight at the Jacksonville airport. Fast forward to July 2019, when I flew into the Jax airport for the weekend from school, hunter asked me to marry him! Hunter had told me he couldn’t make it to pick me up from the airport so my aunt and cousins did instead. The elevators were broken, they said, so we needed to walk up to the top floor to ger to her car. Heading up the last flight of stairs, I saw rose petals. I looked behind me and everyone was staring at me... then I knew what was about to happen! I walked up to him and there were roses around him in the shape of a heart. He got down on one knee, asked me to marry him, and I said yes! A tessla came around the corner blasting the song “Marry You”. Then, the driver took us from the airport to a party at my parents house.
