WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!

Hayden was picking stones with a few of his friends for Ashley's brother Travis. As I'm sure many of you might know how boring picking stones can be, Hayden and his friends made the best of it, joking around and talking about anything and everything. At some point, Hayden's friend Grant brought up Travis's sister Ashley. At this time Hayden responded back with "I didn't even know Travis had a sister." Grant went on and on about how Hayden should talk to her and decided to take things into his own hands. He got Ashley's phone number and texted her saying "Hey, how do you feel about Hayden Vollmer?" At this time Ashley was out to eat after one of her softball games with some of her teammates and their dads. After she got the text she instantly freaked out and showed the girls (this was a big deal as a freshman). She had responded back saying "I don't really know him, but I've heard he is nice." He then responded back saying "Here's his number, you should text him" in which she responded back saying "If he really wants to talk to me he can text me first." Not a minute later Hayden texted her, which then turned into talking in the hallways and on the phone and eventually their first official date!

The night of the engagement was at the Calumet County Fair in Chilton and their plan was to go to the Phil Vassar concert. They were all getting ready for the show to start as the fairest of the fair started talking on stage. She was calling two random people up who would have to draw their favorite fair animal blindfolded. Whoever drew the animal best got back stage passes. Ashley got called up on stage and at this time Hayden was waiting for his moment to sneak back stage to surprise her. As the time expired for the contest, Ashley took her blindfold off to see Hayden down on one knee holding a sign that said "Will you Marry Me?" and a ring in the other. Of course, Ashley said yes!
