What time should I arrive?

Answer

For day guests, please arrive at Chester Zoo events entrance between 11.00am and 11.30am so that you can make your way to the Square and find a seat with plenty of time. For evening guests, please arrive at Chester Zoo events entrance between 6.30pm and 7.00pm.

What is the dress code?

Answer

We would love formal party attire. Animal print encouraged but not mandatory. Please make sure that you bring a coat and comfortable shoes for exploring the zoo and a pair of dancing shoes for the evening. A cloakroom is provided.

Are children welcome?

Answer

Our wedding is an adults-only event so that everyone can let their hair down. Please can you make sure to arrange child care for 17th January 2026 so that you can join us in celebrating our special day.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We are looking foreward to celebrating with all of our friends. Unfortunately, we are not able to accomodate plus ones. We appreciate your understanding!

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

Over the last 10 years, you have helped us build a life together, so our bottom drawer is full. Your company on our special day is your gift to us! Am I allow to take my own photos?

Answer

We would love for you to take lots of photos on the day, especially around the zoo. However, we ask that you do not take photographs during the ceremony. We would like everyone's attention and we have professional photographers who will be capturing our memories!

What are we eating?

Answer

We have selected a menu to share with our guests after our zoo adventures. Please detail any dietary requirements in the RSVP section; the menu will be adapted as required. Wedding breakfast menu: STARTER Velouté of winter squash, truffled goat’s cheese ravioli, Chester Zoo foraged rosemary oil MAIN Locally sourced, braised, sticky beef, creamed parsley potato, charred Roscoff, Madeira sauce DESSERT Chester Zoo quince and apple crumble, foraged lavender custard Evening Menu: Platter of cheese, cured meats, breads, crackers and oils because meats and cheeses always pleases!

Should we get a hotel?

Answer

Ash and Hannah will be staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Spa Chester on Friday 16th January 2026 and Saturday 17th January 2026. For all of those who wish to, we would love to see lots of friendly faces at the DoubleTree before and after our wedding. Though there are many hotels, B&B's and rental properties in the nearby Chester area, to suit everyone's needs.

Is there parking?

Answer

Limited parking is available at the events entrance of Chester Zoo. Any vehicles left at the venue overnight must be collected before 10.00am on the morning after the wedding (Sunday 18th January 2026). We encourage you to share transportation and organise taxis in advance where possible.
