Our Story

September 11, 2020

“I’ve heard it said that a man isn’t just going to show up at your doorstep, but Ferry almost did!” ~Ashley "A friend invited me to a gathering that I reluctantly attended one Friday evening. Little did I know that night would change my life." ~Ferry Ferry and Ashley met on Friday, September 11, 2020, at a gathering in Ashley’s apartment building in downtown Montgomery. Ferry was just looking to rest up after a long week of work but, a friend convinced him to come out to a gathering at the Kress Building on Dexter Avenue. Ferry arrived at the Kress Building and walked into the gathering full of unfamiliar faces. Ashley had recently been studying a book that emphasizes the importance of networking, particularly with people you don’t know! So, with this in mind, she headed downstairs to force herself to socialize and talk to people she didn't know. About 30 minutes after she arrived, Ashley saw a tall guy with a muscular build walk in and join the gathering. She noted to herself that she had never seen him before. Later, she noticed him standing near a banister alone and decided to go introduce herself. As she was walking toward him, the friend who had invited Ferry, stepped in and introduced them. The two hit it off instantly and the remainder of the night was full of laughter and lively discussions about a wide range of topics. When Ferry announced that he was ready to head home for the evening, Ashley walked him outside. When they got outside, Ferry asked Ashley for her business card in case he ever needed her “legal services”. Ashley didn’t have any business cards although she knew that Ferry wasn’t really interested in her legal services, but she played along and texted him a picture of her business card. With that, they said good night and parted ways. The next day, Ashley surprisingly texted Ferry first, which started a journey that the two of them never expected that Friday evening at the Kress on Dexter.
