Our story starts many years ago when I was a freshman in high school and Eric was a junior. We met in the band room and I thought he was kinda cute. I later learned that he bowled on a team with my mom and dad, so I started to go to the bowling alley to see him. One day at a band competition, I decided to shoot my shot and I sent him a text. He responded and soon after that we started dating. We dated for 1.5 years before I decided to call it quits. Fast forward 10 years and I had just moved back home from St. Kitts, where I was attending vet school. Our mutual friend asked me on Christmas Eve if I would consider dating Eric again. I told her yes. He, along with two of my other friends, helped me and my roommate move up to Purdue for our clinical year of vet school. I knew I wanted to date him again, but I wasn't sure how he felt. A few weeks later, he came back up to West Lafayette to "bring up a Kurig cup holder for my roommate and I". While he was up there, we went out to a bar and with a little liquid courage, I decided to kiss him. We continued to talk for a couple more months and then finally on May 13th, 2019, he decided to ask me to be his girlfriend. It was hard in the beginning because I was 3 hours away finishing my clinical year of vet school, but we made it work. Long story short, I moved back home, lived with my parents for a while, then started renting a house and a few months later I asked Eric to move in. After dating for two years, I was starting to wonder if he would ever ask me to marry him. While on vacation with my cousin and her husband in Myrtle Beach, we went out and had an amazing seafood dinner. Sarah insisted that we needed to go down and take pictures in these giant chairs. I was told I had to take a picture by myself first and I was very adamant that I didn't want to, but they finally convinced me. While I was sitting in the chair, Eric comes from behind it and gets down on one knee. I assume you all can guess what happened next!
