Eric and Ashley first crossed paths during Eric's sophomore year and Ashley's freshman year, but it wasn’t until Eric's senior year that they truly began to connect. Their journey together was sparked by a mutual friend who brought them closer. A few months later, during one of their late-night Skype chats, Eric asked Ashley out. Since then, the two have been virtually inseparable!

Eric and Ashley's families went to Walt Disney World the week before Christmas in 2023. Both families attended Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on December 19th and watched the 11 pm Christmas Parade together. After the Christmas Parade, Eric stole Ashley away to spend some time together. They chose to ride the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in Fantasy Land behind the castle. While Eric and Ashley were on the ride, Andrew (Eric's brother) gathered both families and brought them to the spot where Eric would propose. Andrew texted Eric to let him know that they were in position while Faith (Ashley's sister) tracked their path on their phone using Ashley's location. Eric brought Ashley to a spot off to the side of the back of the castle (just after midnight) where he got down on one knee. Of course, she said yes!
