We're Getting Married!

Our first date was on September 17th 2018 at a small live music venue in Harvard square called the Sinclair. Of course, there was no live music that night (actually, there was not even another person at the bar) but as soon as we started talking it felt like we were the only people in the room (which- we were... lol) After a couple of one of our favorite craft beers called Sip of Sunshine, we realized that several hours had gone by talking everything from crazy ICU work stories to Ashley’s future plans to get a giant dog. Fast forward to 2020, we had not only moved into a new apartment together 2 days after the city shut down due to the pandemic, but in December we welcomed that long awaited giant dog (Zeus) home, as a little 8 week old pup. On the last day of a tough year for all, Emily decided we had to end it on a positive note. We spent New Year’s Eve just the two of us at home with our puppy making aperol spritzes and a fancy charcuterie board. At 10pm Ashley decided more champagne was needed, to which Emily casually replied “oh- I think there might be another bottle in the fridge”. As Ashley opened the box she found a note written on the bottle, and Emily down on one knee! Zeus was taking a nap and missed all of the excitement that night when Ash said yes, but he had the honor of having Emily’s ring tied to his collar as a surprise a few months later! Things fell into place even more when we were somehow able to buy a house in one of the toughest markets in history, as the three of us quickly outgrew our 3rd floor Somerville apartment. Zeus now loves running laps around his yard, and we dove right into making our house feel like home! The rest is pretty much history- but we cannot wait to celebrate our special day with all of you!!
