Malaga Airport (AGP)

Malaga does have an airport you can fly into from a US airline, especially if you are short on time. However, if maximizing the cost/vacation ratio is more important, our recommendation is to fly into whichever major international hub is the most convenient or inexpensive from your home airport and then SWITCH to a European airline either that day or a few days later as most major European airports have direct flights for fantastic deals. Example: For ease of booking and for convenience book a flight through Delta from San Francisco all the way to Malaga. But if saving money or exploring other places is more important, then book a flight with Delta to London and then book a separate flight with TAP (or others) into Malaga or take the train. Here are just some of the airports that have over 100 flights per month into Malaga: London (all airports), Barcelona, Amsterdam, Dublin, Brussels, Madrid, Paris, Copenhagen, Rome, Milan, Zurich, Eindhoven, Stockholm, and many more. Additionally, there are many options as well to take the train into Malaga for a more scenic route (Lisbon, Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona are just a few samples). Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions on ideas for coordinating travel.

Travel Note

Hotels

There are a ton of hotel options in Malaga. The Gran Hotel Miramar GL and Mariott's AC Hotel Malaga Palacio are both really nice options. Hotel Las Vegas is another hotel option near the venue. However, there are quite a few hostels and other hotels available to match your travel preference.

Travel Note

Transportation

There are a lot of travel options within Malaga. There are plenty of taxis available. The taxis are typically lined up in front of designated taxi signs and you go in the taxi at the front of the line. Additionally, Bolt and Uber are both available. Hotels will also call taxis for you if needed, we had no issues getting around town without a vehicle. Due to limited parking around the city, we would not recommend renting a car unless your hotel provides parking.
