We met in high school. We had Spanish class together. It was during our first two years of high school. We sat together with some friends for lunch each day. At this time we were just friends. We were both in separate relationships which each of us advised the other against. When covid happened in 2020, we didn't see each other outside of school and online school was stressful so we ended up drifted apart. Little did we know this would be a short break and we would soon fall in love with each other.
Ashley knew they would soon be together after the first date. She liked his personality and recognized how kind and sweet he was. They hung out with each other everyday after that. Each day he would give her another reason to believe that he was going to be in her life, forever. He did and still does give her a new reason each day to believe in a happily ever after fairy tale ending. However... Christopher didn't realize it until one of the first of many dates we had at the river dam in Foster. After work, they would meet at the dam and hangout for as long as possible. We would sit out on the beach and look at the stars. As the days went on and the dates were becoming more frequent, they never went a day without seeing each other. The most time spent apart since the beginning was a whole five days Ashley spent in Louisville on a school trip. They appreciate each others company and genuinely love spending each valuable moment together.
We had planned our anniversary vacation months in advance. We packed our bags the night before and brought them with us to work so we could leave right after. Gatlinburg was calling our names. What we didn't anticipate was the tragedy awaiting the ride to work. Ashley was sleeping and Christopher was driving, and approximately five minutes away from work our vacation was nearly ruined. A deer totaled our new car and left an everlasting mark on one of the most memorable days of our lives. Long story short, Ashley's dad permanently loaned us his car for our vacation. We left for Gatlinburg earlier than expected and got there earlier than expected. The check in wasn’t for several more hours so we ate at a really poppin pizza place (10/10 would recommend) until check in. Later that night, on the coldest night of the vacation, we went out on the town. We made our first night walking around town, seeing the shops, grabbing a hot coffee, and making our way towards the sky lift. Half way up, Christopher recited a romantic promise to her and to their love. He wrapped up his proposal seconds before we reached the top where a camera snapped the first picture of us as an engaged couple.
