The Beach
There’s no escaping the beautiful beaches in Santa Barbara. Separated by Stearns Wharf, the East and West Beaches are only a short walk from most hotels and offer the perfect location for a quick dip, leisurely stroll, or friendly game of beach volleyball. Butterfly Beach in Montecito is known for its paved bike paths that allow a glimpse of the stunning coastline scenery.
Inspiration Point
Calling all outdoor lovers! Inspiration Point lies in the Santa Ynez Mountains, 1800 feet above the Santa Barbara Coast. The hike consists of 3.75 miles round trip from the beginning of Tunnel Trail, and promises the most exquisite views of the city. If you're looking for some fresh air and exercise while enjoying the lovely scenery of Santa Barbara, you don’t want to miss this.
Funk Zone
This hip neighborhood in the art district boasts a plethora of restaurants and cafes, galleries, boutique shops, and the largest portion of the Urban Wine Trail – all of which definitely make it a place worth visiting during your stay. Some of our favorites - Topa Topa, The Lark, and Brass Bear Brewing.
State Street
Shop ‘til you drop on State Street! Only a 10-15 minute walk from many hotels, State Street is known for everything from specialty boutiques and diverse fare to quaint souvenir shops and brand name storefronts. The shop-lined streets are a great way to begin exploring the charm and liveliness of Santa Barbara.
Solvang and Los Olivos
If you find yourself with some extra travel time, check out these sites just outside the city! Located 30-35 miles north of Santa Barbara, Solvang is an enchanting Danish village nestled in the Santa Ynez Valley that features spectacular Danish style architecture, delectable baked goods, and countless authentic gifts and souvenirs – overall a perfect family outing. In the mood to kick up your feet with an excellent glass of wine? Then head over to the neighboring town of Los Olivos to taste what the fine local vineyards have to offer.
