How We Met

Sometimes things happen for the best

We met at 15 years old while being at his ex-girlfriend's house. Yes, that's how we are starting this story. Christian makes jokes saying that when we first met I literally took his breath away... The reason he says this though is because he decided to poke my sides while we were on a trampoline, which caused me to elbow him in the chest and physically knock his breath out. oops.. For whatever reason by the end of the night, he still gave me his number, and that’s honestly how it all began. By the time we were both 16 years old Christian asked me out on New Years Eve after the ball dropped, which was January of 2013. Nine years later, we are planning a wedding! We are both so excited to spend the rest of our lives together and see what the future holds. Hopefully I can take his breath away once again when he sees me for the first time walking down the aisle.

The Proposal

It doesn’t matter where we are, but who we are with

On September 19, 2021, Christian got down on one knee at Gary Adler Park. A park that once had no significance to us became the perfect spot for Christian to tell me that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. It was a long day before we got to that part, but by the end of it all, it made for an amazing story. I will attempt to keep this short by making a list of the main events that happened that day: 1. Christian told me he wanted to take me on a big date that I could truly appreciate. We usually keep things pretty casual. Instead, on this day, he brought me into NYC. We went inside the Empire State Building for the first time and went all the way to the top. 2. From here we had a decent walk to Central Park where we went on a horse carriage ride with our horse, Frank the Tank. On the tour we got to see the Pinebank Arch Bridge used for the snowball fight in Elf, John Lennon’s memorial, and the sled dog Balto’s statue. It was incredible learning about everything people have used Central Park for. 3. Lastly, we went to a nice restaurant before our trip back home. I had some delicious Penne Ala Vodka and Christian had his favorite Chicken Parmigiana. After getting back from the city it was beginning to get pretty dark outside. We took a ride in his car to Gary Adler Park where we walked in and sat across from one another at a picnic bench under a pavilion decorated with lights. Christian then told me, "We have never been the type of people to go too big or be too fancy. So, I took you on this extravagant date to three places where I could have easily proposed, but didn't. Instead, I waited for us to come back and take you to this park. A park we have only really passed by and has no true significance because at the end of the day it doesn't matter where we are, no matter the place, this moment would still be perfect since the only thing that matters is the person we are with." Then he got down on one knee and took out a purple ring pop. Whenever Christian would ask me what kind of ring I wanted, I would begin browsing the internet and see the insane prices of what rings can cost, so I told him to just buy me a ring pop. He said I needed to tell him which flavor though, so I decided on grape. As I started to laugh, I was instantly stopped from the shock of him popping open that ring pop to reveal the actual engagement ring inside. What I really thought was a piece of candy was in actuality a 3D printed ring pop box. After a long, incredible and emotional day, he finally looked at me and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes.
