The wedding will take place on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at The Overlook Barn in Banner Elk, NC. Ceremony and reception details can be found under the 'Schedule' section
To help us with our planning, please RSVP as soon as possible. However, the deadline is August 25, 2025. If we do not receive your RSVP by this date, we unfortunately cannot make exceptions and will have to mark you as “no”. We hope you can understand as we need to provide the venue and our vendors with the total count by this time. To RSVP you will just go to the RSVP section of our website and fill out the little questionnaire provided.
Use this link https://www.pinterest.com/thestoklasas/guest-wedding-attire/ to see what attire to wear for the wedding. We are going for more of a simple/vintage/fall theme so no blacks, pinks, purples, blues, ect. It is more formal attire so for women we encourage dresses that go at least to the middle of the shin/down to the ankle. I love the idea of tea party style dresses. For men we encourage a nice suit if possible, but are okay with something more simple as long as it’s still formal.
We are so excited to celebrate this special day with our closest family and friends. As we’re trying to keep it more intimate, only those formally invited on your wedding invitation can be accommodated. Your invite will be made out to “(Your Name) & Guest” if a plus one has been given to you. Thank you for understanding!
The ceremony is at 4 so we would suggest getting there no later than 3:45. You are allowed to come up to an hour before the ceremony, but the venue encourages guests to get there 15-30 minutes before it starts so it isn't too early but still gives everyone enough time to get settle before it starts.
On-site parking is offered as they have a large parking lot on premise. They do not offer valet parking, but there will be direct parkers who will be available to help everyone park upon arrival.
This will be an indoor and outdoor event. Our goal , weather permitting, is to do the ceremony at the Meadows, cocktail hour at the Cliffside Barn, and reception at the Overlook Barn. They are all part of the venue and on their website they have pictures and information on each if you want to see what the vision for the day is. On the unfortunate chance we have to move the ceremony inside, there will still be a view of the mountains from the ceremony location! We would move the ceremony to the Cliffside barn, the cocktail hour to the back room of the Overlook Barn, and then the reception will stay in the main part of the Overlook barn regardless. Keep this in mind when choosing your attire for the day/weekend as it may be a bit chilly up in the mountains at the end of September.
Accommodations for out-of-town guests can be found under the travel section of our website. If there is something you cannot find or we did not give specific information you still need, please reach out at the number given on your electronic save the date.
Unfortunately, we are not having many children at our wedding besides our closest family members, anyone in the bridal party who has children, or anyone we have previously talked to about bringing their child. If you have children and they are not listed on your wedding invitation please make prior arrangements for them if you plan on coming to the wedding!
We ask that you kindly put your phones and cameras away and on silent during the actual ceremony as we want you to all be present with us in the moment. The officiant will make an announcement once we are down the isle that you have a moment to take any pictures if you would like, but after that he will ask that you put them away. We will have a great professional photographer capturing the ceremony for us! You may take pictures and videos before and after as we would love to see the day from your point of view, but everyone will be asked to put them away once it begins.
Yes! We are not having any liquor at our wedding, but we will be having wine, cider, beer, and champagne available for everyone who would like any! For anyone who doesn't plan on drinking, we will have many other refreshment options to choose from. If you plan on drinking please plan accordingly and have a way to get back to where you are staying safely. Your safety and the safety of others is the most important thing!
We are still figuring out exactly what food we are going with, so once we finalize it will be updated on here. There will be a few light apps during cocktail hour to hold everyone over until supper. It will be buffet style with bread, 2 proteins, 4 sides, and some sweet treats after! If there are any allergy restrictions there will be a place on the RSVP section where you can let us know!
Your love and well-wishes is the most important gift of all. If you would like to contribute in another way, a monetary gift will help us as we plan for our future together. We will also have a registry for those who would rather gift something.
