Ashley and I met online—because we’re modern, efficient, and very romantic like that. She complimented my tattoos, I told her she was adorable, and that was all it took. I drove four hours across the state to meet her in Billings where she lived for the first time, which quickly turned into a routine of road trips and flights on planes so small they probably shouldn’t count as aircraft. Distance didn’t last long, though - Ashley asked me to move in just two months later. By April 2023, I had officially traded small-town life for the city. From our first apartment to our own home, we’ve been building this life together ever since.
Ashley’s Proposal: Ashley originally planned a dreamy wilderness proposal in Kalispell with my sister by my side. Then I broke my shoulder right before the trip (softball and possibly too many drinks), so plans quickly changed. Ashley pivoted with a “casual” photoshoot at Riverfront Park, where I was completely clueless—until she dropped to one knee and asked me to be her wife. Best day ever. Britney’s Proposal: Ashley proposed first, so it was my turn to plan something special. I kept it personal with DIY projects, a few battle scars, and help from her family. Her mom distracted her while I set up the backyard with flowers, tea lights, and a bouquet of LEGO roses. When Ashley arrived, she had no choice but to say yes.
